"Physical cosmology: the cosmological tests, the origin of galaxies
and large-scale structure, the natures of dark matter and dark energy,
and the like."

Why did you study in Canada?

Professor Peebles was born April 25, 1935 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1991.

"I was born and raised in Manitoba --- Norwood and St Vital --- and
naturally went to the U of M. It wouldn't have occurred to me that
there are alternatives, and I certainly couldn't have afforded anything
outside Winnipeg."
